WinklerII Belt Knife or Microtech Currahee

If you are looking for a fighter consider the Microtech Crosshair which is like the Currahee but it is double edged.
If you are looking for a camp/field knife I would probably go Winkler since they appear to have flat spines while the Microtech have swedged spines.
If you are looking for a single edged knife and price is no concern then I would probably go Winkler since their knives have a unique look that feels of old school and class and their knives seem to be a 'hot' brand right now.

This all being said I like the look of both knives and at the end of the day I don't think you can really go wrong with either choice.

Owned a Winkler and the handle was to small for me. Best sheath on a f.b. I've ever used though. Other than the ergo's the Winkler is a fine knife just over priced imho. But he can't make enough of them fast enough so that tells ya something. keepem sharp

If you had your preference what would it be and why? Thanks....

Have handled both. The Winkler II has a thinner overall profile, is shorter and lighter, and is more comfortable to carry if mounted close to the body. The Microtech is stouter, more comfortable in the hand (my hand, at least), and more impervious to the elements with its synthetic handle. Both possess excellent sheaths.

For what it may be worth, it's hard to judge the feel of the Currahee with the factory-mounted lanyard/fob. You have to cut that thing off to get an accurate read on the knife's balance and ergonomics, both of which are excellent without it.

If you are looking for a fighter consider the Microtech Crosshair which is like the Currahee but it is double edged.

Completely agree. The Crosshair is a very underrated--or, perhaps more accurately, overlooked--fighter. If a fighter is what you're seeking, this one is great. The Belt Knife and Currahee are more utilitarian.

Hope this helps with your decision.
