Greetings to all you sharp people out there! I recently moved from the regular Ken Onion Work Sharp to the Blade Grinder attachment and have 9 belts that are brandy new that I would like to give away to a lucky person.

Just post in this thread and this Friday July 17th, I'll draw a number and announce the winner and mail out the belts on Saturday to you.

Those folks in the USA, sorry no out of country on this one.

It's a great sharpener, but I'm changed fully to using the larger belts, which I would also recommend to anyone looking for an excellent variable speed sharpener.

Thanks and best of luck folks!

Decided to use regular 1x30 grinder for tools instead of Work Sharp.

Please remove from contest,
Thanks,
AJ

I'm definitely in. Just got the KOWS a few weeks ago and it has made a significant difference in my ability to fix up old knives and tune in the others.

More belts = good!

Thanks for the chance...

I could use some extra belts since it seems like I sharpen other people's knives more than my own, thanks!

No Problem AJ and also welcome to the forums!

The 9 belts range from coarse, medium and up to the blue fine ones, I think you'll like em'

And I'll have to check out the leather belt for the blade grinder, sounds like a good one to have!

Are you able to get better results with the blade grinding attachment? I'll provide a good home to your unwanted belts!

The honing belt comes with some real nice green compound & some Vasoline. You rub the Vasoline into the belt first & then the green compound then rub it in with a dull piece of metal till the compound is evenly on the belt. Run the Worksharp at a medium speed & it will work great. As with all work Sharp tools a light touch works best. Let the abrasive do the work.
I wish they would make a machine with all the features the Blade Grinder has that uses 1" X 30" or 1" X 42" belts.Lets see I just got my wire welder going & I have some old equipment I can modify. ALWAYS buy belt grinders that are cheap at garage sales & flea markets. Just hide them from the wife & if she ask's just say I got it for $3.00 at a garage sale! LOL. I have found lot's of American made knives, straight razors, hones & strops for next to nothing at garage sales & flea Markets.Always dicker on price. I have got some stuff for half price or less sometimes.
Wow! I got off track but I am a tinker at heart & always trying to make new or mofify a tool for my purpose

I'm in! I just got one and having fun experimenting with it. Thanks for the generosity--good luck to all.

Thanks Dave that leather belt sounds like a great addition, I'll have to see where I can pick up one of them!
