Alright folks it’s almost time again for MrKnife’s box to hit the road again. But first I would like to say thank you to all those that came before me and made this such a cool (and quite full) box. And to all those after me, thank you for keeping it going! Here’s a link to the previous round:

If you would like to get in on the fun and be added to the list, simply post “I’m in” and I will add you. If you would like out, post “I’m out” and I’ll take you off the list.

*EDIT*
Here is a link to what I believe to be the Round 1 of the original box.

I'll throw my name back in, I just ordered a knife yesterday and don't need another but have a couple I could stand to get rid of and I suppose theres a chance I see someone I'd like to try.

Box as I received it:

Lots and lots of cool knifes. I had fun fiddling and playing with each and every one. In the end, I picked the Case peanut for myself and my Dad claimed the purple Rough Rider.

What I am adding:

A Colt branded trapper, an Opinel #8, an Okapi, a Puma SGB, an Imperial Barlow, a Buck Canoe and Toothpick, and a magnifying glass. I have a few of the magnifying glasses and find them extremely useful for seeing edges and markings. I also put in a Buck tin and plastic Plano case.

I will let this run for a few days. But I am aiming for a fast turn around. So if you want in, get in! It’s so much fun!

That Okapi Biltong is almost unobtanium these days.
It is a very useful little guy. Extremely lightweight and easy to pocket. Sharpens up nicely. Would be about perfect for a lightweight backpacker. Or a great first knife for some youngster out there. I didn’t realize they were hard to find these days. It’s got a ton of life left. And a wicked strong snap too!

Okapi seems to have folded its tent. I don’t know if a successor has risen from the ashes, to mix a metaphor. Some Porch members may have found a source fairly fecently, but I have not chased it down. I have a Biltong in my pocket every day. All my sheepsfoot forum knives sit idle for the most part.

I am in.

Also can you put a quick description of how it works or have a link to a thread with the rules? Im assuming if you win the box you take a knife when you get it but also add one before you send it on?

I edited the first post to include a link to the original. I’m not 100% sure if the original qualifications still apply. Maybe and ther more senior member involved can chime in. I added you to the list though.

But my opinion is, as long as one is an active member in good standing, they should be able to participate. I think the main objective is to just have fun, handle new and different patterns, and give away some knifes. I’ll draw the next name tomorrow morning and post the results.

Also yes, it is give/take. But it doesn’t have to be equal. Like 1 for 1 or 3 for 3. Just take whatever you or someone you know wants or would like. And put something in you think someone else may like. It’s shipped in a priority flat rate box to keep shipping fair and consistent as possible.

The accumulation of knives tends to outgrow the container, due to the natural tendency of members to add more knives than they take out. But if you do take more out than you put in, you will be doing the game, and all of us, a favor.

A painful duty, but that would be my plan.
