Igor: Wurrwulf!
Dr. Frankenstein: Wurrwulf?
Igor: There.
Dr. Frankenstein: What?
Igor: There, wulf. There, castle.
Dr. Frankenstein: Why are you talking that way?
Igor: I thought you wanted to.
Dr. Frankenstein: No, I don't want to.
Igor: [shrugs] Suit yourself. I'm easy. :)

Hi folks and welcome to October 2016 ! weather is getting brisk, there is even word of snow coming soon here in the Northeastern PA area of the country!

So to warm our hearts and home I want to put up this small Give Away of this very nice Rough Rider Sowbelly folder with bone scales, it's the Diamond Jim model and I have modified it somewhat. I carefully ground down the spey blade into a nice pen blade and also ground the kick on the sheeps foot so that it now is level with the spine of the main blade, making it a more comfortable carry and also in use as well.

Rules of the GAW

Need to have a paid membership, even the lowest level is fine just want to encourage people to help support our site.

Need to have at least 200 posts in the Traditional Folders and Fixed Blades subforum here, you can check that by seeing your where you post totals in your profile.

and, that's about it, oh, and just post in this thread that you are in, Open to all that meet the requirements, I'll run the random number generator next Friday October 14th around 7pm EST.

Here's a few pics of this folder, walk and talk is great on this, no blade play at all and no nail breakers either, nice knife.

Snow Gary, so soon? Well then, I'm in. I wish I could mod EVERY Spey blade I have into a pen. That's a really nice gesture. Thanks.

That looks like a sweet little knife Gary and your mods make it even more so, count me in and thanks for the chance!

Not an entry, because I have that knife, and it is a sweet knife. Someone else should have a chance at it.

BTW, I have no idea how many posts I have here. I checked my profile, which shows "Top ares of posting", but shows no numbers. Is there a switch I need to trip or something?

Thanks for the generous GAW, Gary!:thumbup: (Do you have a knife in mind to replace the sowbelly? ;))
I've admired that knife from afar ever since you first posted it in all its modified glory, and I'm ecstatic to have a chance to win it!
Best wishes to all the entrants! :D

Excellent work! I'm not in as I don't have enough posts yet but someday soon I'll break the 200 mark. Good luck to everyone who enters!

I need to post more in this forum. I sure as heck read it a lot.

Thanks sir it is a nice knife!

As to viewing post numbers, I do not know if that is an added feature if you are a paid member or not, but when I click on your profile and then click on Post Areas it shows what sections of the forums you posted as well as the number of posts in each section, for this section you have 274 posts.

and thanks guys glad to have you participate in this, I have an old favourite in bound, a French knife made by the Chambriard folks, one I've owned several times now ;) I have a weakness for them but I hope to hang on to this one...for a while at least :)

I'm in, G2! I don't have any Sowbellies, and you've got a beautiful example there. Thank you for your generosity!

Well I am still 10 posts shy in the Traditional sub-forum, so I am not in.

But I still wanted to say thank you for putting on the GAW.

That's a beauty, I'm in. Your photography can make even a less expensive knife look like a million bucks. And what a fine whittling combination that would be. Thanks for the chance.

Aha! Seduced by another French beauty, eh?? ;) I suppose Diamond Jim doesn't stand much chance against "Oo-la-la"! :D
Hope you enjoy the new Chambriard, G2!

Not an entry (not enough posts) but I've always liked the look of the RR sowbelly and your mod makes it even nicer. Good luck all!

Count me in please sir. That would be a neat little knife to put to use and I love pen blades over speys also!

Thanks for the opportunity.

Haha indeed, well, it's also a case that I do miss those Chambriard's a bit too, and as a friend is fond of saying "G2 loves getting packages" :)
