Well it looks like Bob (southriv) won hands down or what he had left of them. It looks like he got the sympathy votes (cheater).:D :D :D
Now will the person please come forward and assume the responsibility for my last two posting that I made, that everone said that I was cheating. :) :) :) :)

I confess. I asked George to post two pictures up for me, since I did not know how to do it. One of them was my first stock removal knife and the shorter one that was even uglier was after one year of making. And yes, those were dry wall screws in the handle on the first one.
Bob, you did good bubba. You show much promise when you have one that ugly. I know mine where so ugly I could not get worse, or so I thought, so everything is looking up for you. The forums here are a great place to learn and grow. That is why I keep watching it too.

Thank you George, by the way, I do not think I heard you laugh so much as when the pictures where sent.

Yep, you got that right Jerry. HEHEHEHEHEH!!!!!!!
And from all the guys that said I was cheating I expect apolgizes.:p :p :p :p

Hey - do I get to step forward & claim my prize? - (which I understood to be a coffee and donut at Krispy Creme).

I feel a great sense of accomplishment as this is, ironically, the one year aniversary of my entry into knifenaking.

George - as one our founding members, I hope you recognize the prestige this award will bring to NECKA.

Jerry - we have to see what you were going to submit - it might give us all somthing to aim for next year.

I also just realized that my ugly knife is still unfinished - it needs a sheath so that I may proudly carry (hide) this gem. As I ponder a design, I have laid out some vinyl from a 65' chevy bench seat, some premium duct tape and my staple gun... any suggestions would be appreciated.....

Thanks all, Bob

Congrats Bob!! That sheath if made correctly could include the hog rings that attach the vinyl under the seat. They would look cool if left on for embellishments.

Thats what I get for not hanging around enough. Just finished this OL Homely Dog up today...had to laugh when I read you guys were having an ugly knife contest.
Can't seem to find the original thread:confused:

Any way I made this from a piece of scrap S5 I had left over. This stuff is such a bear to cut I mainly just ground the profile. It is actually a test blade for my HT process. Set up a 2litre bottle full of water and let ER rip, sliced thru about half way down. Went 9/10ths of the way thru the bottle and it stayed in place while the water sort of seeped out. Weird seeing a cut in the middle with water still up to the top. Chopped thru an OLD dry hard 2x4 twice and it still shaved. Not too bad for a first try.
Hit it with a smooth steel and it was Razor again.
This Ugly dog will be in my truck after it serves it's purpose testing this steel.

Try not to Laugh too hard!

Actually that is Tennis Racket grip tape Contact cemented in place. Not coming off any time soon.
Tell ya what with full force blows it really took the shock out of the impact.
Ugly but it works:D

Congrats! I have looked back and can't find the pics.
Can we see the winner and the runner-ups?
