Hi All-

Having a tent inside the tarp cover...I like that idea for a little extra protection from the harsh elements!

The tarp was great, we got hit with two snow strom well we where there. it really kept the wet snow off the tent. and when it was bad we could sit under it.

Hi Matthew-

What is the main reason for the haybales? Did you use them to keep the ground somewhat dry and for firestarting purposes? I suppose they could also be convenient as a place to sit...and whatever is left of the hay afterwards doesn't have to packed back to the truck!

~ Blue Jays ~

Where abouts on the Island ? I'm heading up there tomorrow afternoon for my second round of deer hunting, going into Kagawon to Maple Point.

Cool pics man!

I've got a question. What did use the zambezi for and how did it hold up? I've always liked the looks of the knife but now i have a reason to get one.

we used the hay for walking on, it reallg got muddy under the tent, from use walking around. we just left the hay there, the owner didnt mind.

the zambezi is a tank, we did must of are chopping with it, even used it over the axes. it fits real nice in your hands, and has a great design. it also has one of the coolest sheaths around.

Hopefully brad will read this later tonight and he can let you know more about it.

Hi im Christhe guy whos dad own the place. Ya the small lake within our land is called east lilly lake and is situated on the north side of Bidwell Road, about 10 minute drive form mindimoya. the lake is visible form the road and Wee Point Lodge is just south of our land on Lake Manitu, rufly oposite of maple point, neer the narows of the lake. hope this helps.

Thanks for putting this up matt- that was a great trip, we intended to post them sooner, but we had some camera issues. The tarp was my idea and it sure was a good one, when we woke in the blizzard a few days in, it saved our a$$.

The Zambezi is an amazing knife for the price, i have yet to regret it.
I used it for almost all of the chopping and it's tough as nails. i put a 25 degree edge on it wit hmy lansky and it held up really well.

I would say get one, for about $100 i think you'd have a hard time finding a better chopper. it also did a good job for other cutting tasks and fits really well in a medium sized hand. to add again- the sheath is awsome, i put a smaller fixed blade sheath across one of the leg srtaps of it and it wored really well.

(BTW, if you like i did some birch testing with it and i would be happy t osend you the pics.)

Looks like a fun trip. Thanks for sharing.

One question though: why stick all those knives into a living tree?

Hey GUys..
