Winter has not lost it's grip, let's see some knives used in spring, summer and fall

Well, after a couple days of temps in the 50s and above, albeit with some harsh wind, central Maryland is slowly being dragged back into winter. Vivid dreams of fishing along the banks of the Susquehanna River, hiking along the Appalachian Trail in western Maryland, and whiling away a couple hours at Hawk Mountain in Pennsylvania, are slowly being dashed as old man winter claws at us like an extra on the Walking Dead.

Let's see your traditional blades doing something outdoors. Cleaning fish, sunbathing, whittling away a walking stick, grilling, cutting line, whatever it is I want to see some outdoors pics. I'm going crazy cooped up at work on break, thinking about where I'm going to get to.

Mountain and ocean vistas welcomed. Let's shake these winter doldrums, I'm ready for spring. Which will arrive with sleet, snow and freezing rain this Friday. To our brothers and sisters in the midwest and northeast, yes, I am a lightweight in handling winter, I live in Maryland fer goodness sake!

This is last years Spring walk, still deeply buried in snow:D The GEC acrylic matched the Trout Lily leaves so well.

Happy Spring to all, it's been a long one.

Best regards

Robin

You can see some leaves from trees in my back yard reflected in the shiny surfaces of this sunfish. Trust me, it was taken on a fantastic day last summer! :p

This was taken on a glorious day last fall, although I actually took the photo indoors. :o I had enjoyed a sunny walk earlier, during which I picked up some colorful leaves as "props".

Here's a little sunshine for you Dan

My better half's Opinel and my Resolza on a camping trip to Assategue Island last summer. Gray and a little cloudy but warm.

I wish we had a winter around here. We're smack dab in the middle of a very long drought. We could use some rain, even some snow right about now.

Here's a couple of knives I brought along on a camping trip last summer.

My favorite belt knife.

Fatwood hunting tool.

Not my knife, but a friend's. Great picture.

Working on a radar transceiver on a sunny day last summer, with a TL-29 (please excuse the other two; those wicked tools-of-the-devil must have sneaked in there when I wasn't paying attention!).

And a few shots of a glorious summer morning, installing antennas up on top of a tug boat at General Ship Repair down on (Francis Scott) Key Highway in Baltimore, with my Queen City yellow delrin gunstock (which, as of this past Super Bowl Sunday, lives with a friend).

Thank you gentlemen, Carl I can't wait to get back to Assateague. I will brave the horrors of Ocean City to spend some time at Assateague, Chincoteague and the Delmarva in general.

Christian, don't know what good it does, but I am praying for you guys out there. I hope you get some good soaking rains, and no mudslides! Except in a glass at the bar.

Wow Sarah, that is a great photo essay (poem?)! I love seeing that lilac slowly come to blossom. That really does remind me of spring. Myself, I live in Narnia where it is always winter and will always be winter. At least it feels that way this year.

Double points for your ironic use of Eliot's irony. Well played!
