Winter in Maine !

Snoooowww, yes I believe I've heard of that stuff, actually we had some fall down here this year. I'm wearing short cause it'll be in the 60s tomorrow. :D

I just wanted to share my woes with some friends.. :o
 
Well I feel that hearing other people's woes makes my situation seem better by comparison. I feel for ya having your roof cave in due to snow, I had my shop destroyed by the tail end of a hurricane so I know (kinda) how ya feel about that. Stupid insurance company said it wasn't covered due to age of the building, I argued for months with them and my lawyer agreed with them :(

wow I feel for you Will on your loss, and on top of paying for insurance and it not covering.. I can't believe they'd take your money and not cover you, that is why they are suppose to reevaluate from time to time I thought??
My problem is, for years the insurance company covered the house but not the shop with homeowners both the shop and the house are kind of side by side and for years they tried to drop me because of the shop liability and for one reason or the other they covered me for years but a short time ago they dropped me for the same reason as they tried before and they won that time..
so now that I don't have my small engine shop and no insurance now on that part of it
I now for the reasons before can get insurance RRRR BUT.. now, them looking the place over they want the house and shop fully re-roofed with new roofing.. so that's left me holding the bag for now.. the roof that came down is an open space for a smithy ~ 16' x 28' but i had a lot of junk under it my of which I would have liked to keep, but all in all it could have been a lot worse..
the 2nd est I got to day on the car was $3400.00 the car insurance will cover the car anyway .. the finance company I'm sure will see to that..:)

I have to apologize to you guys here ,,, I know I should keep my problems to myself and sound like a winey a$$ but it's like therapy talking about it here..
and it helps with the little stresses that life brings on us..
kind of like talking to a bar tender if you know what I mean :)

man I have snow up to the eves of the house now and we have more rain and snow coming Tuesday evening they say..:rolleyes:
but in the 40's tomorrow,,, a little reprieve at least..
there rambling on again :(
 
Dan, I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say don't apologize for whining/bitching/venting to us. I vent on a baseball umpiring listserve (I'm one of the mods though :) ) and a lot of real life friends are on there.

I'd gripe more but life is pretty good for me, got a lady that loves me and understands my love of knifemaking, her father is a blacksmith, got a roof over my head and my tools. My children are healthy, the ex-wife has quit bitching at me and if she does I can hang up on her until she gets the message :D and I don't go back to work until at least March 24th so I can make knives to my hearts content.

By the way, it was in the high 70s today, we got bad storms coming and the temperature is going to drop to the high 40s-low 50s :(

thanks ,, I should count my blessings for sure,,:o a friend lost his life yesterday in a logging accident :( so things can be worse for others, that's for sure.. they say things come in three's, I'm just gritting my teeth right now looking for it....
