WIP- a nessie style blade

Here's a work in progress. Maple handles and brass pins, with a 15N20 blade thats rubbed to 800 and buffed. I've got some cleanup to do- what left is to knock the corners on the rear of the handle a bit more, sand the handle with 600 grit and get 2 more coats of tung oil in. And buff the blade some more before a final hone.

Though I've already cut myself twice on it. the REALLY shallow convex tapers are wicked.

~8 inch knife, with a 3.5 inch blade

Boy you are right about a really fine convex edge searing through your flesh like nothing could stop it.

Looks good Christoph. Keep em coming.
 
It's not super fancy, but I think it's really hitting a high point on backwoods "plain n fancy"

The sheath is almost done and then I get to polish out the handle some more. This maple gets really glassy.

Andy- all I did was touch it... lightly, while running a cleaning qtip along the handle during glue up. got the red blood outta my thumb!
