Wazzup?! I took it upon myself to liven up my kimura today...the master plan is to radius the handles, scotch bright them, acid stonewash the blade, hand sand the flats, and be done with it. I just spent two hours with a file putting a radius on one handle, and it's not completely even yet...

The deadline is June 5th, the day before blade in Atlanta...here's to hoping I can pull it off! I'll post more momentarily. ;)

Hi :D

Picked up a couple files from Home Depot today and got busy fixing the first one and starting the second. First off, here's how I attached the handles to my bench, pry-bar from David Sharp came in handy when they needed flipped.

There were two! This one went a little faster and was a bit easier, but still took awhile. I'd say maybe an ounce has been shaved off, couldn't say for sure, it is noticeable, though. The pics below should give you an idea of what I'm taking off,

I moved to the porch to take some pics and dropped a pivot screw and washer....found the washer at the bottom of the steps, and the pivot in the bushes. FUN.

on the third or fourth handle I'll try to give some details as to how I'm doing the radius...Figuring this out as I go along haha. For now I'm going to soften the edges on the two I've already done and call them finished. Comments, suggestions, good or bad are welcomed and encouraged!

All that work, and you're not even adding bearings to the pivot? :D

Interested to see how it turns out!
