Well got a couple of blades from Gene and started on them right away (as much as I have time anyways).
The big ol boy Ive just started working on finishing the blade area and get it all polished up (its one of the 8670 by the way). The other has the blade pretty well shined up (hard to see in pics) and I started on the handle and bolsters. Ran into a big issue with that little guy. Made the mistake of not getting all the wax off one of the scales (got most of it) so when I hit it with the grinder it really darkened up that side. Still hoping I can get them to match up a little better once I get it toward being finished up.
I know this is not as much work as involved in making the blades from scratch but until I have some more resources and time I am gonna try my hand at getting a few of my own made. Got a lot to learn before that happens though. Thanks for looking and open to suggestions and areas of improvement. Will post some pics when I am finished up.
