I was unsure if I should put these up considering the quality of mod one sees on this forum. All of this is my first time modding a knife, convexing building scaled etc etc.
But here it is
My BK14, Polished, patina-ed (use not force), re-handled and convex-ed.
Polished with 320 to 1500 grit and then used mostly in the kitchen for a cpl weeks.
Same set of grits to convex and then black emery and green buffer on a strop (also handmade
)
Found some very hard wood the provenance of which remains unknown but was a bitch to work with.
The only power tool used in this entire mod was a drill to make the holes in the scales. They are carved with my Scamp and sanded and polished up to 1200 grit. Fastened with (and this is my fav part) aluminium bolts and Araldite. After which I sawed them off and sanded down with the scales. The fiber liners were made with the strips the wifey uses to wax
. Superglued and pressed 3 layers for each side. Cut thick leather into the lil circle and the triangle in the handles and glued them in along with the scales.
NEed to polish it back up to mirror finish and force a reasonable patina on it.
