WIP: GIB build -- VFD and contact wheel questions

Cruising right along with my GIB build--got my rotating handle and adjustable handles in, tapped the holes, and installed them.

I'm going to weld the base to the upright, deburr/sand everything, and then paint it. All I have to do now is order my contact/drive wheels, and a VFD.

That being said, is there any "magical difference between" a KBAC-27D ($448+shipping, from Wayne) and a TECO Model FM50-202-N4FS, with a NEMA 4 Enclosure ($346+shipping. from Dealer's)? If theres no real difference, I'd prefer to spend the extra $$$ on belts, etc.

I went with the multi-platen option--I need a 2" contact wheel and an 8" contact wheel for the multi-platen. What duro/firmness should I be looking for, and do I get serrated or flat wheels? Generally they are the same prices, but I know there are differences in functionality.

Thanks in advance

The KB can run a 1.5 Hp motor with a 110v 15 amp input
or
run 2 HP with 220v input

The TECO is likely 220v input only.

Being able to plug the KB in anywhere is a nice feature & is the most popular KMG configuration because of that.

I have a KB and I like it.
A nice sturdy cast AL case & lots of room for add in switches and what not.
I'm afraid the TECO may be plastic.
The KB has a wide acceptance & is US made & sold & serviced

Worth the $110 difference? I don't know
