I recently picked up a broken condor golok for free, and at first, I simply reshaped the tip, but then decided I wanted to make a new knife from it.
to start, a picture of a new golok incase you didnt know what they look like.

First, I started by removing the walnut handle. I tryed to drill out the pins, but my drill kept slipping. I ended up just grinding the head off, then punching them out.

then, I cut off the old handle portion, and annealed the back portion of the handle, to drill for the lanyard hole, and possibly new handle scales.

Next, I started to profile the knife.

This as far as I got tonight. I plan to keep removing steel, making a deeper grip, but you get the idea for the final design. I also plan to take a bit (say 1/2") off of the back, so I dont have such a long handle. This is going to be very nessmuck-y, so stay tuned.
I leave you with an in hand shot.
