WIP: Refinishing/cleaning Stainless Steel

I'd think it should be easy, especially with those nicely flat handles on the Spyderco. Some sanding with medium-grit wet/dry sandpaper (maybe 320-600) should work fast on them (I've liked 320 for emulating a lot of factory 'satin' finishes). Lay the sandpaper flush to a hard & flat surface, making sure to secure it so it won't lift/curl up. Keep the sanding in one linear direction only, to keep the scratch pattern neat and uniform. I'd think a lengthwise direction would look best for it.

Keep in mind, the engraving on the knife pictured in your linked thread would be removed or diminished by sanding; don't know if you're wanting to preserve that, if you're giving the knife away anyway. Might be worth getting it re-engraved after sanding, if you want to retain that.

Not sure if anyone really cared or cares, but here are the photos I promised. I gave the blade a good sharpening and worked on the handles with some 600 grit sand paper. I also received stellar customer service from spyderco and have an all new set of pocket clip screws; I think my dad'll like it!
