Have known Vince and Grace Evans for a while now as friends and have been fortunate to have added some of Vince's work to my collection over that time.
This one that he has been working on for about 6 or 7 months was a dream that I had hoped to commission years ago. The stars aligned a while back and I asked him if he would be interested and feel fortunate that he took the ball and ran with it. Thought some folks would enjoy seeing a little of the progression.

Getting to know Vince and Grace has made me a better person and due to that this piece, which is the most elaborate I have asked of a maker, will be very special to me. I feel sorry for folks that do not get that. They miss the best part of knife (or in this case sword) collecting.

Get ready Jim Cooper. After Vince finishes his magic you are up if you are willing. ;)

P.S. if anyone has any recommendations on someone who could make a deserving fitted display case, I would be very appreciative of the help. Thanks.

Beauty Gus, didn't know you were into swords! The engraving and inlay are lovely.

Congratulations, Gus. The inlay and engraving are gorgeous.

This one's going to be something when finished.

I heard about this one from Vince. He mentioned a certain Bastid getting a piece pretty soon.

Each time I shoot one of Vince's pieces, I have to study it for ten minutes just to figure out how much can I show , and what's going to be missed :grumpy:.

Gus, if possible send BEFORE Blade. I'd love to spend some time with this. :)

Good post. Congrats!

Coop

Gus, thank you for the pictures of the blade. This will be a really great piece. One of my favorite artists and one of my favorite swords. Congratulations.

That's gonna be insane! Thanks for showing us.

You didn't show them the walnut handle after it was carved by Grace. It's fantastic too!

I just had the fortune of being introduced to Vince and Grace and visit with them at their shop. Spent a wonderful couple of hours with them. Awesome!

Gus,

Fantastic sword from one of the greats.
Can't wait to see Jim's image
Congrats !

So totally cool, Gus! The sword, and as you say, the relationship behind it. Such a tremendous addition to your collection. Congrats on an awesome piece.
