NOT hawk tuah, right?I often hold the knife up before my mouth and say "hoh" at it for the free
wipe
fluid.

Uh-oh.Right?
I use a paper towel for wiping stuff off. For applying oil, or getting rid of pocket lint, etc I have an old 1" natural bristle paintbrush. I've been using it for years & I only need to add a drop of oil occasionally. It gets dirt out of, and oil into the crevices & tight places nicely.
When I
Wipe
my knives
I sometimes use this gross little orange cloth.
I use it to
Wipe
knives and to
polish my hammer too.
Before the
Wipe,
I often hold the knife up before my mouth and say "hoh" at it for the free
wipe
fluid.

I don’t worry about smudges, but if I get something gross on my knife at home, I will rinse the blade under the tap, then wipe/dry it off on my shirt of whatever is handy. Outdoors, I just wipe it on my pants leg - maybe spit on it first in the case of something stubborn stuck to it.
Ah yes
Wipe
That UN x LD a rare knife these days ?
Those pins look good
I used to polish my glasses with my necktie. The last time I wore a necktie was 2015, so my glasses are pretty smudgy. Everything else, a pants leg or a shirt tail. ( Stopped tucking my shirt in about the same time I stopped wearing neckties.)
Don't call it hype.
Wipe
Well, you know, it ain't marrow bone or glitter gold or anything like that - doesn't even have a whale shield, so...
No one has ever complimented any of my knives' pins before. You get the dubious honor of being the first and my thanks. Upon closer inspection, I agree with you. Good looking pins.
Wow, good to know about the paper towels. I've been getting some mysterious, horizontal marks on some blades. They're not really scratches, but are visible and won't clean off. I'll use cloth from now on.I use old cotton t-shirts from goodwill cut into squares. Use em as gun cleaning patches too. $2 for a buttload.
Don’t use napkins or paper towels unless you like a satin finish… They’re abrasive. Found this out trying to wipe down a mirror polished blade with a paper towel - looked like I took a sheet of 220 to it.
100% cotton, microfiber, tuff cloth, etc. are the way.Wow, good to know about the paper towels. I've been getting some mysterious, horizontal marks on some blades. They're not really scratches, but are visible and won't clean off. I'll use cloth from now on.
