Hey guys i need some help. I saved the motor from my dryer when I tossed the old one. the motor was working, we switched to gas. I want make a buffer but I can not it to work now. It is 1/3 hp part num 40099801, model s58nxmzd-6910. I would be glad for any help Thanks:grumpy:

from my experience with washer/dryer motors. they are too low powered and easy to bog down. you need at least a 1/2 hp motor to make it worthwhile. find someone who puts in furnaces or ac units in houses and see if they have any old belt drive blower motors.

I agree. The motor on a dryer is geared by the drive belt to turn a large drum slow. It won't work well for running anything fast or deliver much power.
