Yo guys and gals.

Got my KMG grinder with a 1/2 horse AC VS Leeson motor and a KB adjustable controller.

I run into a small obstacle. The wires coming out of the motor are marked T1, T2, T3, singly. T4/T7, T5/T8, T6/T9 crimped together. The info plate is not clear how to wire it to the controller, which has lugs marked "U" "V" "W".

Any one know how to proceed from there? Don't want to fry the motor first thing :) :)

Thanks,c.j.g.

As the motor is wired it is for 480 volts. To wire it for 240 wire 4-5-6 together, 1/7,2/8, 3/9."U", "V", "W" should be your L1,L2, and L3,look for that.Hook L1 to 1/7, L2 to 2/8, and L3 to 3/9.Check your motor rotation, if your rotation is backwards, swap L1 and L3.Hope this helps.Dave :)

Got you on the wiring for 240. But I am going to run it on 110. Do you have any info on that setup???

Thank you. c.j.g.

I was mistaken as your L1,L2, and L3 on your controller should be on the input side of your controller.T1,T2, and T3 should hook to your motor.Make sure your controller will run on 110 volts it should say on it.If it will hook 110 v to L1 and L2 plus your ground. If 240 v hook to L1,L2, and L3 plus a grond.Dave :)

doesn't matter how you connect it, bro. Just put the three lines into the 3 spots.

If the motor doesn't spin the way you want it to, switch any 2 of the 3 lines to reverse the direction.

If that doesn't work, give us the exact model numbers and we'll take it from there.

(I'm assuming you are running a 3-phase AC motor off of a 110V VFD/step-up)

Yo Daniel

Problem is I have nine wires and three spots. U--V--W

I know, I know Three goes into nine, let's see MMMM I knew I should have paid attention in math.

I will post the name plate of the motor as soon as I get a pic on the computer.

But it is the AC VS drive that Rob Frink sells. A Leeson 1.5 horse motor and a KB KBAC-24D adjustable frequency drive.
Marked thus----- U-V-W L1-L2 Ground. At least I know where the green wire goes :) :) :)

If all else fails I will call Rob tomorrow.

U, V, W are output to the motor

L1, L2 & Ground are input from the outlet.

L1 is positive, L2 is negative.

The nine wires get bundled like this:

2 & 8 go to "U"
3 & 9 go to "V"
1 & 7 go to "W"

4, 5 & 6 get bundled together (don't connect to anything)

Hope this helps.
