Wish list. Bk62 knife and axe combo

I picked up 3 of those kabar hatches for 60$ canadian 9 years ago on a store closeout!
2 in storage and it is actually a handy little pack axe!
With my emberlight and a fiskars slidesaw it's a great combo with a 16 or mora to baton little rounds

Fun project! Not sure how well a walnut handle will work on a tang for an axe. I reckon the stress and physics involved would cause it to split much more rapidly. Possibly add more vibration/shock to the hand to boot. But re-doing the leather washers is simple enough.

Maybe a walnut Dymondwood? The look of walnut, but strength and durability of synthetic. A potential win/win in that application.

They need the same handle material. Whatever you decide on they’ll look great together.

I could picture something like this on a horizontal knife sheath. Maybe a loop if you decided on something bigger for an axe head.

I'm interested to see what kind of coolness you come up with.

What's wrong with pairing stacked leather and walnut??

Now if you used your BK-62 to carve a hickory handle for a hatchet head, that would REALLY be something! :D
