I left my last consulting gig in December (they were having problems paying me and I may finally collect that money soon) and have spent basically the past three + months looking for something else on a daily basis. I found what is shaping up to be a "dream job" and after two phone interviews and one face-to-face, the company is flying me out to Philly for two days to meet and hopefully finalize things.

As anyone who has had the misfortune of being in a similar situation these days knows, a good opportunity is hard to come by and they seem to take forever to develop. I need all the help I can get to push this one over the wire and would greatly appreciate any smoke/prayers/well-wishes you guys can spare!

I was in a similar situation last year, out of work for eight months. My new job is closer to home with better benefits and more money. I had almost given up on finding a job and was going to school full-time when this job found me. I know things can work out for you, smoke and prayers to you.
 
Good luck! I keep trying, but nothing for an over the hill old man seems to come along. I could always be the old guy at McDonalds who wipes the tables and takes out trash. :D
 
Prayers going up now. BTW, it is a beautiful day in Philly today, I hope that is a good sign for you.
 
Ihope it turns out real well for you. I was my own boss for most of my working life.
