Picture this...

Harpy
G10 handles with skeletonized steel liners
backlock w/ Boyd detent
Tip up black pocket clip

This would be my ideal EDC/utility/defensive blade.

How about it Mr Glesser?
Any interest?

Maybe a little bit of jimping on the thumb-ramp wouldn't hurt either. Not to be too specific :)

Sir if I were in the same room you are in I would "high five" you immediately :thumbup: I recently lost or got stolen my G-10 Harpy which was a constant companion blade I carried for almost 7 to 8 years and I miss that G-10 Harpy so bad that I truly get deeply depressed thinking about it. I'm probably going to go ahead and get a stainless handled VG-10 Harpy to replace it with. But I know in my heart that it won't fill the void that the loss of the G-10 Harpy has grieved me with.

They brought back the Police model with G-10 handle scales and I understand it's doing well. I do hope your thread catches fire and others join in. Even if they were just to do a Sprint Run like they did in the mid 2000s with those Carbon Fiber Harpy models that would be great. They did those Carbon Fiber Harpy model in SE & PE both and I wish they would do a G-10 Harpy with those options as well. It's been a long time since we've had a Sprint run Harpy. It's high time that they did!!!

Even a Micarta Harpy would make my holiday season that much brighter.

Well Mr Glesser, that makes two of us. It'd be a pretty small Sprint Run, but it would still be an awesome knife.

OH TRUST me "blade14" there are more than 2 of us out there in the knife kingdom that have serious desires for another run of the G-10 Harpy. And VG-10 steel would be very fine by me but it also wouldn't hurt my feelings any if you made it there in Golden Colorado USA Earth with either one of Crucible's or Carpenter's great blade steels. Actually I think it's high time they did a premium Hawkbill at the Golden Colorado USA plant>>because as far as I know other than prototypes I don't think that there has been any Hawkbills made at Golden to my knowledge.

I just ran a thread over at Spyderco.com forum a while back about what a person would want to see specially made from Spyderco and there were quite a few guys that chimed in wanting a G-10 handled Harpy. Oh no we are not alone Sir I can totally assure you of that.

Hey even if they wanted to do something super radical like make a Micarta Harpy I could even go for that. But I do desire something a bit more grippy than the standard stainless handled model.

I am curious as to why the harpy, the military, and so many others are still tip down only. I can't say I know anyone who prefers tip down.

Hi Blade 14,

If we did a sprint, we would make it 4 way clip. However 2 of you is not enough for a sprint. Anyone else? Color? As JD knows, hawkbills are not the most popular blade shape.

Thanks for responding. I was just hoping to drum up some interest in something I've been looking for a long time. Still a huge fan of your knives (25 so far and still buying them). The ones I really like are the Sprint Run updated classics.

I'd be in for a g10 Harpy sprint with a tip up clip and thumb ramp jimping! :D

I don't care about the Boyle dent or color.

Hey Sal count me in, love the 4 way clip, thumb ramp jimping idea. Color does not matter well, maybe not pink

Don't think my wife would be interested in it either, so I'd have to agree that pink is out. Black, grey, or foliage would be sexy though.
