Well, we just got back from a long weekend of camping and fishing, but mostly fishing...:D

The weather was beautiful and the fish were very cooperative, so needless to say we had a Great time!

Anyways, thought you guys might enjoy some pics.

The weather called for chances of Tstorms all weekend, but the clouds stayed north of us, and it was a pleasant 65-70F during the day and 35-40F at night

All of us at a really nice view of the river valley coming down from the lake, and picture of what seemed to be an endless stretch of waterfalls on one of the tributaries.

The last couple of years I have noticed a pair of these birds at both Wishon and Courtright Reservoirs. One finally perched close enough to get a shot of it. Not sure what it is, they are pretty large, they gotta be some kinda eagle or hawk, I'll have to look it up later.

I'm so proud of my wife! My dad and I left for a couple of hours of night fishing, and when we came back my wife had a roaring fire to greet us. She even had the wherewithal to take pics so I could post them hear and brag. She didn't use a firesteel though, that will be the next step...

Alright, lets go Fishing!!!

Of course my dad hooked up with the first, followed shortly by my wife, and I tried to keep up with them.

After catching our limits at the lake, I wanted to go try the river that comes out of the damn again. The fish are small, but on ultralight gear they fight better than anything from a lake. Mostly aggressive little browns this time, and one young rainbow.

A view of "the honey hole" from the top. It's about an hours hike from the damn, and you gotta blaze your own trail. Getting down to it involves a little bit of rock climbing, makes you feel like a mountain goat, and be careful when you get down there, the granite is polished smooth as glass.

Using a single egg, or in this weekends case a bare worm, no weight, toss it at this concave section of rock and let it free drift to the next water fall. Works every time.

Almost knocked my wife into the river trying to get this shot. Did I mention the granite is really slippery?!

Good to see you have a great time.
Thanks for sharing wonderful pictures.

The birds are ospreys.
They live along water and prey mostly on fish as you did.

Alright, thanks for the ID! I couldn't find anything when looking under eagles, hawks, and falcons. No wonder.

Beautiful pics.
I love the pics of the Osprey, I've taken a lot of Osprey pics over the years but that one is better than any of mine. You know there are fish if there are Osprey or Bald Eagles nearby.
Thanks for sharing, it looks like a wonderful trip.

Great pics 'Ol Bud... Looks like you guys had a good time. the only thing I missed was your knife pic

My gosh, what beautiful country! I wish I could be fishing there!

Thanks, but it was so far away, I had to use all of my digital zoom to get it, and that is the largest the pictures will go without looking too bad. Times like these make me wish I had a proper camera...

Well, I really don't have a big collection of custom knives like some of you guys. Didn't want to tire you guys with a bunch of pics of the same rehandled Mora that I carry everywhere. But if you really want a picture, I can throw up an old one I took of it at Courtright, the sister reservoir of Wishon.

Beautiful pics bro!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! Yes, I love these mountain lakes, but surely they do not produce fish like you catch there in Connecticut...

Mike: You guys are always welcome. Hopefully it will work out next time, I think the fam. would really enjoy it, if they like camping.

Looks like a great weekend, and those are some nice looking trout.

I have only driven by Wishon once, on my way to the Rancheria trailhead (from there we went to Tehipite Valley and then up the Middle Fork Kings to the heart of Kings Canyon).

That is a beautiful area. We were in that area last October to do the Dusy/Ershim trail. We didn't get much fishing in though. Lake Courtright was drawn down really low because they had to fix the dam.

Thanks for sharing the great pictures.

Edit - oops, not exactly where I was thinking but still beautiful area.

Wow - amazing pictures. Beautiful fish and beautiful country  thanks for sharing.
