I'm afraid to say that the above title has described me and my knife collecting for a while. Several years ago i was a full blown custom folder nut and couldn't be sold on a production knife........even after handling the sebenza I was not impressed in the least, simply too light and "fragile" in my learned opinion! Then a couple years ago I hooked up with a large ironwood inlaid Sebbie and the love affair blossomed. I finally figured out what I was looking for in a folder; total perfection in the execution of design with top line materials to boot. After a year of this love affair a custom folder crept into the picture and before I knew it I was hooked again...Carson's, Obenauf's, and Smith's were upon me before I had a chance to blink!! This past year I simply got out of knives and sold all my custom folders. I ended up with a Camillus Cuda Maxx and a large plain Sebenza. Only recently have I gotten back to the point of pursuing my hobby and I must admit to owning a very nice large Evolution framelock folder from JWS, not that it is a bad thing, by any means! Again what has flipped my wig is the overall perfection of the CRK Sebenza. Of all the knives I've ever received, the Sebenza is the ONLY one that I never had to worry if the lockup was solid, if the blade was centered, or if everything was going to work exactly like it should. Right out of the box everything was perfect!

I believe I can truthfully say that Sebenzaland is my homeland, and after being away a while, the old adage is true...........................THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME!!:D :D :D

I have a drawer full of beater knives. At least that's what they are to me after buying my first Sebenza. I do own one "custom" folder and can honestly say that most production companies can match or exceed the fit and finish. Nothing I have seen compares to the Sebenza. Sure, there are other knives that catch my eye. Maybe someday I might actually buy sonm of them. I seriously doubt that any will replace my CRKs.

Sebenzas are hard to beat, even in a custom. You have to look for names like Onion, Carson, Mayo and Cook to find anything resembling a better made knife. And unless you catch one of them early at the few shows they attend you are looking at a long back-order or elevated prices from a dealer. If Chris were still making all his knives by hand they would be harder to get than Ken and Tom's work! Just a production knife? I don't think so.

Yep. . .extremely hard to beat folder. As many knives that I've purchased and sold. . .it's one knife that has remained constant in my gathering ! :D
