Hey everyone, just a few new knives I've finished up recently. I have a very small shop in an equally small basement in Philadelphia. They were all made on a Grizzly 2x72 but I'm hoping to upgrade to something a bit more versatile this week. At this point I'd almost be willing to trade my first born for variable speed. Don't tell my wife.

1/8" O1 tool steel with ruby burlap micarta, black G10 liners and brass hardware. I haven't made a sheath for this one yet but it'll probably get black leather, maybe oxblood?

One of the smaller camp knives I make. This one is also 1/8" O1 tool with forest(?) green G10 liners and brass hardware. This one also doesn't have a sheath yet. This one is probably my favorite knife I make.

Another of the larger camp knives. 1/8" O1 with stabilized maple burl.

I also make boot knives. This one is 3/32" O1 with maroon houndstooth micarta.

Another boot knife, same as before but in black with yellow G10 liners and an all black sheath.

Another of the small camp knives with my first decent attempt at a ferro rod loop (and homemade ferro rod). This one was 1/8" O1 with yellow burlap and green canvas micartas.

Nice work! Love the 2nd one. I feel your pain, having a single speed grinder can be a struggle at times.

Nice work! Those boot knives really draw my eye,s.

Thanks. Those are probably my most popular knife I make. They're pretty handy little things. I make a belt sheath for them too but I keep forgetting to take a picture of one when I have them around.

Yeah man, it's really frustrating when you're trying to do a machine finish. I usually give up and just hand finish everything.

Those small camp knives are my favorite knives I make.

First, some real good looking knives, REALLY like that ruby burlap mcarta one. Second, I have never tried with the grizzly, but I found an older plug in variable speed controller in my grandfathers shop a few years back & I used it for a few of my power tools for cutting & shaping different materials (table saw, router, & belt sander).
It may be something to look into for the Grizzley? If something you already checked out, just forgive my stupidity.
Look forward to seeing more work

Thanks man! There's nothing stupid about that but from what I hear, running a variable speed controller on that motor does little but burn it up. I don't know enough about it to say why, but I'm not going to roll the dice. Thanks for the heads up though!
