The fellas at Triple Aught Design have been gracious enough to post up a few photos of the upcoming X-5 Tactical.

I'm so there! :D

Yup...badass...I'm eagerly awaiting, but it's still on pre-order...They should be released anytime, now...i guess...

Maybe my knives have spoiled me but I would like to see the addition of a pocket clip on the light.

...You've been spoiled! ;)

Seriously, though, it's not a bad idea...

Guess that I have been spoiled too then! A pocket clip mounted to allow for LED town carry would be VERY cool!!!

That's come up a couple of times, the desire for a pocket clip. There looks like there may be enough "meat" in the wall thickness to support drilling and tapping.

How about a ti clip from Halpern?

Anybody else know of a clip that can be converted or adapted?

I wonder if someone could rig up a Spyderco Salsa/Meerkat style wire clip to fit into the lanyard hole????? That would let it ride nice and low in the pocket.

Someone needs to make a clip that would "snap" into place over the lanyard hole... or even a press clip that had a ring that slipped over the body itself.

This is going to be a cool light.

I think a pocket clip would be pretty awesome--like some of the surefires have. I'm looking forward to picking up a few of these new Inova's--I already have the silver/white and I have a silver/blue in the mail.

Thanks for posting the pics, Don--I'm even more anxious for their arrival now. Is that bottom pic of the five flashlights your stuff? I'm guessing not since it has a pic of the tactical, but does anyone know how they got the paracord through the lanyard hole on the original? The lanyard hole on mine seems too small to fit it through. Also, what are the third and fourth flashlights?

I broke down and ordered one. I was going to wait and see if anyone had any problems before I ordered, but I'll play guinea pig with the rest of you guys.:) Hope they're out soon.

Heh, I wish. The only light in that pic that I do own is the ARC AAA. The photo is courtesy of Triple Aught Design as mentioned.

I'm really starting to want one of those lights... :D

I bought an inexpensive AA Mag-lite look alike flashlight; I don't remember the name but it was at a popular sports store here in N-E Pa. Anyway, what I liked about it was that it had one of those clips on it- and you could bend the clip a bit. It will fit the Inova that I have (it's the older model), but I have it on a palm-stick now. So, keep an eye out for the flashlight that has a clip on it...I'm sure we can find clips like that in a hardware/supply store. Great idea.

Zeng,

It maybe Spectracord. It has the same rating as paracord (550 lbs) but is only 2mm in diameter. Shomer-tec sells it. There maybe others. $18 per 100 feet :grumpy:

Yeah, I've been meaning to pick some Spectracord up to give it a try, but buying an $18.00 product and then having to pay 12 bucks for shipping (to Hawaii) kinda turns me off a bit. Unfortunately they seem to be the only ones that have it. And since I have loads of paracord it would be nice if that actually is paracord on that Inova. Then again, I don't know what Spectracord looks like so that could be it in the pic. I think I'm going to have to break down and buy the spectra...thanks for the suggestion.

You can find 2-3mm accessory cord (in various colors) at any place that sells climbing equipment (usually 10-20 cents per foot) Has about 200-400 lb breaking strength, typically. EMS, REI, and Campmor all carry it.
