With Schrade, they went under, inventory was sold off, and tons of stuff dumped on the market.
With Camillus, if they simply stop making knives and start repackaging stuff, will their inventory be sold to dealers as they are now, till it is all gone, or will it all be dumped on the market as discontinued items?
Some items are hard to find at the moment, and I wonder if the dealers are not ordering said items, or if there is none in stock, never to be made again?
So many questions........

There is still the question in the back of my mind whether or not what the union spokesman told the reporter is actually factual. I am not claiming that it is false, intentionally or otherwise, but until some word comes from the company, I just don't know for certain.

ISC's situation was a bit different. They were forced into a bankruptcy dissolution by their bank, and they continued to assemble remaining WIP from the July announcement of the closing thru the October dissolution auction, though they were forbidden to ship anything to anyone. That is why there was a huge hoard of knives for the sale, bought by SMKW and Blue Ridge. Also some rather large orders were ready to ship when the order to halt shipping came down. And Schrade had a habit of holding back production overruns for warranty replacement. IMHO, even if Camillus has been doing just WIP assembly since May, they haven't been holding back stock, so there will not be a comparable treasure trove released, should they shift gears as the union has said is their intent. Additionally, Camillus is a rather small company compared to the former ISC. Small in both facilities, and in their product line. In 2004, Schrade's last year, they listed 99 Items, 19 of them new. Count up Camillus' current product lineup.

Codger, not to make you work more, but you really need to put all of your knowledge and info in a book or something, so generations from now, those who might still be collecting, can have a part of your wisdom.
I am thinking of going back to the start of this forum, and Schrade, and copy off all the good knowlgede for future reference.

I'd watch very carefully. Toledo's newspaper is going through some rough times, and we see similar rhetoric. One day, the Blade is shutting down, another they're locking out all union workers, a third there have been concessions, a fourth they're shutting down again.

I'll believe Camillus has changed when I see it in print, with both sides' names on it.
