The friend I posted it for told me the Sales Rep. he purchased it from said it was a custom model,
I am not a Laguiole expert and could not identify the exact model. Do you know about this knife?

It will have come from the same factory as all Laguiole de l'artisan knives. It may have been upgraded with certain materials different from the basic model. I think it would be more appropriate in Production, so I will move it there. These are very nice knives and someone unfamiliar with the company could be forgiven for thinking this one is a custom.

Do you know what material the handle scales are? Can't intelligently evaluate the value without that information.

I don't know the handle material precisely, The knife belongs to my friend and he could not find any definitive identification documents, It appears to be bone of some type, I don't know if Laguiole uses man made composites, I would be surprised if it was since the build and quality of the knife is outstanding. In my research I did not see any cheap materials used in their knives. Quite honestly, If it does not sell, I am considering buying it from him and I am not a big fan of slip joint knives but it is so beautiful. The pictures do not show the fine details in the handle material.
