I don't want you to take this rudely, as i know you're concerned with your knife, but honestly, i can think of 10 threads in the last two months that answer all these questions, all basically asked the same way. And one thread in particular that comes to mind is when chris reeve or someone related posted and said something to the effect of, if you have a personal product question, ask them directly because that's how rumors get started. So again, don't take this the wrong way, but theres a million of this same thread.

How are you estimating the lockup? Take a look at the tang...there will be a groove worn in from the ceramic ball. I'd be willing to bet that the lockup is less than you think. You can't estimate the lockup on the Umnumzaan when it's open. As for the wiggle on the blade, have you tried tightening the pivot? There really shouldn't be any play in the open position.
