Withrow knife steel?

I picked this up this morning while out hitting yard sales.
It sharpened up like a scalpel on my wicked edge :D
Just wondering what steel it may be, it had a little staining on the blade that cleaned up nicely.
I'm north of Charleston,WV and I see Larry has a 984 number, as do I. Guess we're close to neighbors.

Why not just call him? He'd probably be tickled pink to talk about one of his knives. Cut an Apple, wait ten minutes and if the blade patinas it's carbon of some sort, but that's about all a person can tell without actual steel testing or the maker telling you.
