it was about 30 and sunny at the start. tho it was supposed to warm up to near 40, but ended up a tad cloudy and windy later.
in the meadows the sun has eliminated most of the snow and ice.

with the sun and the thawing the last few days there was plenty of dead wood from limb falls that was also dry. wanted to try out the gasification stove shared by another forum member earlier. it really works well tho i will trim the pot holder bits down one squareto bring pot a tad closer to heat before using again. boiled water in no time.(no i didnt time it-there was too many interesting things in the woods to check out between adding fuel)

Radiation? Like, from the sun or some man-made radiation? Looks like a nice hike!

Great pictures Sadiejane. Thanks for taking us along.

What pot are you using? does it come with a flat lid or one that can be used as a pan?

Great pic Sadie, nice to see signs of spring in the air.

The HEST is a great knife, and I like the mischmetal too. I have a 2 inch by 3/16 inch mischmetal rod from Going Gear in the handle of mine.
