I remember a framelock; the mono lock, or mono-something, thta retailed (street) for about 100 bucks. Ti frame, tip down. Probably to compete with the SEb. They haven't been made in some time. Anybody know why?

The 750 pinacle? (There's one on ebay right now)

I assume that it didn't sell well, or they didn't make enough money on it.

I think it is the 750 that he's talking about. That's the only one I ever heard of referred to as the Mono.

Problems with relatively fast wearing out of the Ti frame end, and a detent ball, I suppose. They couldn't adjust it.

Sadly, it's great knife with that one flaw. I love mine despite of it ;)

750 Pinnacle is indeed what he's referring to, I'll bet.

Would love to have gotten one when they were readily available... Now i keep forgetting about it in favor of whatever else catches my fancy. :p

yes, the pinnacle. I was thinking "mono" because of the mono-lock designation.

I just remembered, Benchmade used to refer to the frame-lock of the Pinnacle as a "Mono Lock" for some reason. So you just may be right. :)

I've carried mine for 4 years with no problem, and I've given it some tough beatings, my blade is wearing out though, it looks really skinny compared to a new one. Sadly benchmade is out of the blades, so I'll carry mine until it's useless...

Take a look at what they list the locking mechanism for the 630 Skirmish, 635 Mini-Skirmish, and Monochrome as.

Best wishes,

Point taken. :D

After working in the advertising biz, I've trained my brain to filter out marketing nonsense like that. So when I read "Mono Lock" on the Benchmade site, my brain sees "frame lock". Makes things simpler for my poor advertising-addled brain. ;)

I hear you. The only reason I even noticed it is because I always look at the "blade style" description in BM catalogs, which happens to be right next to the "locking mechanism" description.;)

Best wishes,

i just picked up a mini-skirmish and love it. Where else can you get a titanium framelock with s30v blade for $120!

Lucky You, I know about knives with frames worn out during some months.

Skirmishes seem don't have such problems so far.

I've been carrying my 750 on and off for over 5 years, still tight. Though I do "over maintain" my carry knives, so it's always clean and lubed.
