This weekend was an absolute blast. The weather was perfect, the company outstanding. This year's turnout was bigger than last year, with people travelling from as far as NYC, Central PA, and even Western Canada! We shared skills, showed off knives, and swapped a metric ton (tonne?) of stories.

On to the pictures!

The location was right on a beautiful little pond. It was full of fish and the temporary home to a flock of Canada geese. Note the goose feathers floating in the foreground.

Here's Never Too Sharp, Rescue Riley, and DPKnives (host of the event) starting up the fire. Reminiscent of the Olympic opening ceremony.

Larry watched as The Lone Gunman became The Lone Archer.

Never Too Sharp put together all these Altoid tin fire kits for everyone.

On Saturday Tooj rolled in with a truck full of Beckers and Kabars!

There was some good knife talk over the Kabar table.

More pics on the way...

The frong hunt was long on determination, short on success. Lessons, however, were learned. Frog gig sticks should be long.

(Got to run to the store, will post more pics in a bit.)

It was certainly alot of fun, and I'm already looking forward to next year. The company was outstanding. It's nice to know there are decent folks out there willing to share so much. The generosity on everyone's part was humbling and heart warming, and I enjoyed reconnecting with everyone from last year, as well as meeting all the new guys, some of whom came from very far away. The knowledge, stories and gear shared really made this event special. Coming home with a bunch of new knives and gear isn't bad either. :o

I'm glad you all got to hear Aiden sing!

Cheers, guys! Here's to a great time. :)

It was defintely a great time.... I didn;t take as may pics As I would have liked, but I'll get some up tomorow.

I have 43 pictures and if anyone that was there wants them let me know. I have also started a post. Good shots john. Doug

Glad it was a success. One of these days I need to make it to one of the meetups that there is.

:thumbup:Aiden's song was priceless.:)

100% agreed. That little dude is pretty amazing. A great singer with a memory for lyrics. (Not to mention he caught the biggest fish of the weekend!)

Speaking of which, here he is with the fish he reeled in.

The way Harry was hauling in the fish, he could have depleted the whole pond. Dude can cast.

It really was a great time. I met some friendly people and learned some new bushcraft skills. I'll have to get out and practice building traps and snares now, as well as make a new frog gig and break in my NeverTooSharp fire kit. Thanks everybody, for making the get-together so much fun.

I love to see kids fish. And love to see him using an old "cane" type pole. If you dont you two should go Fly-Fishing! A great experience for both. And something that no matter how good you are you can always learn more and improve upon. Seems like a great little gathering. Love the snare pictures. Something I would love to learn to do.

I wish I had known that this happens in the WNY area. Deffently something that is realy intresting and that I would like to know more about!

That looks boring and silly. I'm glad nothing like that happens near me. I'm going to go mope now.

Honestly, it looks like you guys had a blast. That food looks amazing, what's in the potatoes? Did you guys grill up those frog legs?

That looks like a great time! I will have to try harder to make it up next year!

I think the spuds were fried up w/green peppers. Tasty stuff. The frog was small, and we used it for fish bait. :)
