Once upon a time, I had a comely collection of daggers. Among them was a Boker AF Mini Smatchet. Like a fool, I sold it when I was short of cash.

Now I long to hold it again, but alas, they are no more.

Deleted from the catalog, lingering inventories are long dried up. Even the dread E-Bay has none to offer, nor any other auction site.

What dark art would I need practice to conjure one up? What ransom would I pay for one that came to sale? Will one of you fine knife nuts take pitty and show me the way? What other wonderful Bokers do you long to see again?

I see one from time to time.

They are always pretty pricey. (not my auction - I'm not bidding)

As for one I'd like to see again - a remake of the early 1900s H. Boker & Co. whittler with an acorn shield. They are SWEET! Or maybe a remake of the pattern #666 swell center whittler. Last one I saw was part of a SFO made in 2005 for SMKW (tang stamp series).

Thanks. I had seen that auction, but Im looking for the MINI Smatchet.

Such as the one seen here in the AF series photo:

Don't give up hope!!! We have had a nice limited edtion with a CNC machines Micarta handle, a stonewashed D2 blade... this is not too long ago. In general, there habe been, if I recall correctly, three versions:
1) FRN handle, bead blast blade
2) wooden handle, powder damascus blade
3) Micarta handle, stonewashed D2 blade...

try to use a search machine on the internet, if you won't succeed, let me know, maybe, I can try guide you a little bit...

Good luck!

I found a Mini Smatchet recently and love it. Smaller than I expected, but built exactly like other Boker A-F knives. It is extremely well balanced, with just a hint of blade heaviness, and beautifully symmetry. The flat blade is more substantial than other knives its size, and is excellent for CQC. The only downside I can see is than the twin sharpened edges qualify it as a dagger, which makes it illegal to carry in some states (which permit fixed blade carry). That said, I'm very happy to have added it to my collection.

I've got one that I've had for years. This little knife went to Iraq with me in 2004, where I carried it many days. It would likely take a hefty ransom to get this one, but you're welcome to make me an offer, everything is for sale at the right price!

And there was one for sale here in Spring, he may still have it. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...ng-I-Boker-Mini-Smatchet-amp-Fujisaka-Skinner

Dang ... Yes, I would love to make you an offer, but I jsut purchased a whole bundle of knives. I would catch a LOT of hell for buying another right now, especially at an inflated price. :(
