what is a body to do, i ordered my knife on the 4th dec still isnt here, want to get another one already. you guys are getting yours in 2 days.im depressed. if canadian customes has anything to do with it , it will probably be another month.with any luck they will cut thier heads off with it when they destroy the package to see it. im depressed. but i sure do like the pics and the hi website. and all you people here. merry exmas and good new year too.
 
I'm sure it will get there in one piece. It's not like customs is going to use it to chop a dog in half or anything.

Oh, I know the pain of waiting for Canadian customs all too well. It's only been a week. I've only received one order after a week, as most of my khuk orders come in after about a month. If it's not there in a month, then you've probably got a problem. Go ahead and order another one... Or two... Or six... When they start rollin' in, they might as well -really- start rollin' in, right? :D Besides, the longer the wait just means the more exciting the arrival.

I'm still waiting on one myself. The post office is overwhelmed at this time of year. To save them even more trouble, anyone interested can just paypal presents to me.

Chechacko - if there is one thing worse than waiting for a khuk, it's not waiting for a khuk because your last one already arrived and you haven't ordered a replacement yet. :D
 
Khukuri-in-limbo anxiety is very real. Nothing is certain except death & taxes. How can you be sure your precious snag will really make it safe & sound to you? HI sent it, but... what if the mailman leaves it? And psycho-neighbor steals it? Crap, HIM with a khuk. Or the kid next door? Could be there in 2 days. Could be there in 7. Your new khukuri is a feather in the wind...

Better order two, just in case.

I love getting triangular boxes and I hate waiting for the customs announcement letter about them. It is different experience everytime. Once the box came after month long wait without any additional payment demand. It landed at my doorstep. Gosh I was lucky no one stole it. Second time I got message about registerd mail waiting for me at postoffice. I was affraid it was from police and I did not pick up the letter. The customs sent it again and I persuaded myself to pick the letter that time. What a joy. Did not mind I had to pay 19% taxes that time. Third occasion - I knew about the letter announcement from customs so I went right for the letter to postoffice and then to customs in single day. Another surprise. I had to pay taxes again and some weird 20% customs as well that time. It made 39% in total. Paid in a heartbeat. I think I got that HIKV thing.
I have to wait after Christmas for another order. :( Need some big 18 inch villager now. :D

Well although i only have been purchased knives on the net, i have the same experience, sometimes it's only 8 days ( a speed record) sometimes it takes a month, sometimes i have to pay up to 50 % taxes, sometimes nothing, signature, no signature. Luckely we live in a good neighbourhood, so packages left at the door would not be stolen. If i expect a parcel i just tape a letter on the door too leave it at the neighbours. I am not afraid of burglars either, the Rottweiler seems to scare them away.
Our neighbours even have a key to our house, should anything happen, or whe are on holidays. But it is still sometimesa LONG wait! :)
