I just won the Holiday drawing for a Greco Companion! :D I wanted to thank John Greco and the nice folks at CQC knives. It is the nicest thing I have ever won. My first handmade was a Greco Hatch-It and it's terrific. :D Guys check it out if you you want a handmade hatchet you can put in your glove box.

Congratz!
I have my Greco MST IV, and I want to beat the hell out of it! ;)

Nice prize! I have an old A2 Greco Clip Tip Fighter that has taken to much abuse...but still is in great shape. It's the knife I grab when I need to do something that you shouldn't use a knife for (prying, hammering, etc.). It will serve you (and you descendants) well. Not to mention that it cuts extremely well for a 1/4" thick blade.

I missed the chance... I have a friend of mine who was in the Cadets, and he was off to a survival camp. I wanted him to take the MST for a beating, but apparently some idiot there didn't figure that the blade length is about 4.5", instead he just judged by the overall size and said no to it....
Oh well. I did get to try and hack a board and so did cadet's friend of mine try to do that with the MST, no visible edge damage. Given the board isn't too thick but still that was pretty good by my standards.

I have one of the old Greco Companions in A2 and it is one damned stout knife! It cuts VERY well for being ground out of 1/4" stock. Mine sees a lot of work in the kitchen - my wife loves it for peeling potatoes and slicing chicken. I like to use it to chop small branches off the trees growing over the back fence, open cans when I don't have a can opener, split kindling and small firewood, etc. They are most definitely "hard use knives" and then some.

John Greco makes knives that love to be used. I hope you get to put yours to work soon - it will love you for it!

Very cool. Hearing about all these Grecos is making me excited. Thanks. :D And a reminder, do throw your name in the hat for knive drawings at Bladeforums and other great sites. Now I can say first hand that people do win great stuff. :D

Very cool! What a neat early Christmas gift! Congratulations!
