I came across a box of junk knives, and saw a two blade jack (spear point with a long pull, just like I like em), with the tang stamp Wolfertz and Company, Allentown, at a gun show yesterday. No stamp for origin of manufacture. AAPK stated that they stamp was from 1905-1944. Possibly German made for the firm, or made by them in Allentown PA? Anyway, a really nice jack. I am on Tapatalk on my phone, and cannot post pics because I am not a basic member, I am going to try a link. Anyway, it looks like they were a razor and cutlery company, and switched to home furnishings in the early 1900s.
I bought it, ten bucks didn't seem too high for it's condition. Handles were very fat, really light pull on the main blade, almost non existent, but could still find the half stop. The pen blade had a bit of a snap, and both blades had lots of life left. This was a worker I believe, nothing dainty about it, but a nice knife. Spots etc, but looks to be well cared for.
Anyone got a Wolfertz?
