Pretty much without exception, I always loved every creation that I saw by Wolfgang Loerchner. But I'm certainly not alone. I think many consider him to be one of the greatest knife artists of our time. So it was a great pleasure, delight and honor to meet him about three years ago.
Sometime afterward, I was lucky enough to be in a conversation/email exchange with Wolfe which produced an arrangement whereby a dagger would be made. And I'm so thrilled, because that dagger arrived today. The only other time I was so overwhelmed by a knife was when I saw the Warenski Main Gauche for the first time. A very comparable experience, for which one cannot ever prepare.
Here's a single image (sorry for the quality) to give an idea of the dagger's design and beauty - this will be off to Coop for the real thing once he gives me the signal - with his image likely to be posted shortly thereafter. Engraving by Julie Warenski-Erickson.
