This has always been one of my favorite shows! Be good to see you again, Tom.

1. Are modern production knives (Benchmade, Spyderco, Kershaw, etc) a minority at this show? It looks like customs and slipjoints dominate the list. I've been contemplating going, but would need to burn some sick/personal time (8 hrs) to cover my shift since I scheduled to work on Sat. Although I could easily spend a day looking at knives and guns :D, it might not be worth it if my favorite toys aren't there.

2. How are pricing at these type of shows for production stuff? Close to online? I haven't been to a gun/knife show since Bill Goodman back in the day.

I went to the Gun & Knife show there last month and they had an OK selection of production knives, mostly CRKT and Kershaw. only a couple boothes carried Spyderco and Benchmade and only a couple. As far as customs, there wasn't a lot there but the one that stuck out for me was Gerry Vessella and his beautiful neckers.

Pricing wise, they were mostly reasonable. You can definitely get it cheaper online. Some were just crazy expensive, like MSRP expensive.

Hopefully this next show will be different and have more knives. I'll be there since I live about 5 minutes from the Rock.

I have been the last several years. The majority of knives are customs. Not a great selections of production knives. You do have to remember that the organization that puts this event on is the Wolverine knife club and they are custom knife makers in Michigan.

I'll be there tomorrow with a couple other BF members.

If I'm not mistaken, our own Michael Morris will be there too. Tom Santini is a member here and does some incredible work. He had some really cool neckers there in '08 (I missed last years show). Be sure to stop by his table.

See ya there.

Chris
