Woman Survives Week in Wilderness by Sucking Water From Her Hair

Wow, 11 broken ribs, cracked vertebra, and punctured lung. How did she not die of exposure laying out the open through rain, hail and sleet?

God Bless

One thing more that shows how large a part of survival is the will to live in animals.

Wow

That is one tough lady, I can't imagine having her injuries and being able to make it out the way she did. Survival gear or not, it's tough to factor in a major injury, it's one of those really unexpected things.

I'm glad to hear she made it

I've read and heard about a lot of these kind of accidents, where a car rolls off road, and the person is marooned not really that far from a road, but out of sight, and badly injured.

It also makes one take a look at thier survival gear and tactics, and ask oneself if that will work if badly disabled via injury, or weakness from illness. Some of your survival practices may become not doable due to pysical limitations.

The one that amazes me is the punctured lung. Aside from some luck, the pain and complications from that could have easily killed her. I can't believe the determination she had. I'll admit it, she probably has more grit than I have.

I can only tip my hat.

This is the most important survival tool. It's the one thing that cannot be replaced by some type of object. Will will get you through all kinds of bad.

She did all this with a golf club, what a survival tool. I guess it goes to show that things can happen at the worst time, when you don't have all the cool gadgets, or even your health. That is really hardcore.

God Bless

Good reason to have some basic edc items in your pants pockets at all times you have those pants on. That may be all you get to have.

That is why I always carry my golf clubs in the car. ;)

At least that is what I tell my wife.

kick ass story, kudos to this lady.

Its like Cody Lundin says in his book - Maintain a "party on" attitude. That is - Always maintain a will to survive and roll with whatever situation you are in.

Man, every story I have just got less impressive. Old ladies are making us all look bad!

She's pretty hardcore. I hope more details come out about this. I would love to read an in-depth article about the situation.
