JB, CTP-crossing the plains, Mormon pioneers crossed the plains in 1846-47,walking with hand carts, to settle what would become the state of Utah. Dave, great score!

Nice knife. Love the display stand. I'm still trying to figger out what them folks, on the blade are doing. Looks like a bunch of folks watching two other fellers bury something. When was the Mountain Meadows Massacre? That was much earlier then '96 though. I'll have to get out my history book and do a little research. Nice knife, though.

Statehood, 1896-1996, Centennial. I still don't know what stroy the pictures are telling. Maybe, they're getting ready to run up a flag. Curious minds want to know.

Looks like the burial of a dead person wrapped in a blanket.

I suppose they lost quite a few crossing those plains.

Yeah, I looked at it all through a magnifying glass and it's definately someone being buried on a blanket. Looks like the pilgrims who settled Utah on the left and I don't know who they're planting. Even Brigham Young died in 1877, so, I don't know what that would have to do with 1896. Nice knife, any way. At least, it's a good conversation piece.

:cool:Cool knife Dave,I saw it and thought that's a deal.I would have bid on that one myself, just to much going on right now.Did Buck ever make a New Mexico 110?:D

I suspect it is meant to symbolize hardship and probably not intended to represent the death of any specific person.

Odd image on such a purty little bauble.
