Wondering if anyone has some more info on this pocket knife

Is anyone here familiar with this friedr.herder abr.sohn pocket knife? I inherited it from my grandfather and I would like to know some more about it but I have no clue where to look.

Nice knife, Check inside where the blade goes to see if it's clogged with lint or crud. If there is and you clean it out good it may close and fully open better.

You are probably correct. Old well used cocobolo can get this dark.

That is a basic single blade folder that is seen unchanged in Friedr. Herder catalogs from the 1920s up through the 1960s.
The catalogs don't state what type of wood was used for this particular model, but it is not ebony as others have mentioned.
