Wondering if I may void the warranty on my Benchmade

I just received a Benchmade 940 today and within 30 minutes of playing with it, it became rather loose and started rattling in the handle. I took my bit set and tightened the pivot down almost all the way and another 20 minutes of play has already made it loose. I'm wondering if I put a little blue lock tight on the pivot screw, would that void the warranty if I would ever need to send it in???

I've put blue loctite on my Benchmade Kulgera's pivot and clip screws. When my Omega springs broke, Benchmade repaired it and had it back to me in about 10 days. No mention of the loctite. Now if you used red loctite, that may be a different story.

No, you can fully dissemble the knife if you want, though, like said above, red lock right will probably piss some people off. :D

A good soldering iron will soften the red loc tite enough that you can spin the pivot screws apart easily.

Make sure you use quality tools when working on your BM.

Benchmade states specifically on their warranty that disassembly of your knife voids the warranty, when both omega springs broke a couple months ago on my Mini-Grip I was afraid to send it in but I sent it in last Friday and called them, they said it would be repaired free of charge even though I took it apart for inspection.

I appreciate all the info because I would much rather do it myself if it wouldn't ruin the warranty instead of having to send it in for them to do the same thing. It's been working a lot better since I added some blue loc tite to it and has yet to loosen up =).
