Just got off the phone with Mrs. Welke, of AZWelke Sheaths! Had received my taco style sheath/Scout Carry a couple of weeks ago, and have been delighted. Being a rather short and stout type, my BK9 is just a wee bit long for EDC/concealed carry use. Likewise, my two D2 Extremes. (High heat/humidity make wearing my 511 3X sized vest too darned hot!) So, after receiving the benefit of the Welke's wisdom and experience, I ordered their taco style sheath with two Scout Carry heavy duty leather straps, a 5/16" fire steel loop holder, and my favorite color, OD, for my new EDC. Oh, for got to mention, a new BK10 inbound, as well as a KA-BAR Becker VZ Grips Tool Knife Set- the same set I have on my BK9... The Welke's are the finest folks, being fast, accurate, and quite accommodating. They do things the old fashioned way- the way that made America Great!

I heartily recommend them!

I to have nothing but good to say about the Welke's too  I own about 8 of there sheaths and they seem to get even better with age good retention and with a lite push of the thumb the knife is in my hand. Workmanship is spot on :) The Welke's have been extremely generous with all the GAW's they have too. I have been very fortunate to have won 2. Just wanted to give my 2 cents to the Welkes for being some very fine people that make some very fine sheaths, Thank You Both Al & DeAnn , hopefully going to spend some time with my grandson this week and finally get him the sheath from your last GAW. Will post pics soon :D

Xr6x, Good Morning!

OUTSTANDING Functional Art! You've covered all possible bases! Likewise, the Next Generation is well represented! Congratulations! There IS hope for the future!

You've given me ideas that I will endeavor to incorporate for future blade carriage! Am gratified to see another who likes the KA-BAR BK2VZ/G10 grips! Wish that they would come out with the same design/quality for ALL Becker knives... Yes, even the Micarta scales/grips are an improvement over the factory grips, solid vs. skeletonized, however, the G10 scales are my favorites. (I've got G10 grips on my Sig Sauer P226 TACOPS pistols, and they are indispensable.) We're pretty much stuck with whatever may be available, so maybe KA-BAR may consider a change- perhaps as a factory upgrade, with a "reasonable" price increase... Fine firearms makers do have custom shops- why not the best combat/survival knives?

God Bless You and Yours! May you all, always, be safe, well, happy, and forever, free!

P.S. The Welke's are top notch, in every respect, as you have opined... They are also, my only choice for sheaths... Wonder if they do Wakizashi's?

I’ll echo the sentiments expressed on this thread. I purchased a BK7 kydex sheath from Al; it’s the best kydex sheath I own. Besides his expert craftsmanship, his communication is top notch too. If you’re thinking about kydex, don’t hesitate to purchase from Azwelke!
