I am new to knife making and have been experimenting with finishes.Tung oil;Bees wax;Boiled linseed oil etc.I am wanting to know what some of find find to be the most durable and longest lasting finishes for natural handle material, wood, deer horn etc. Thanks for any suggestions.

Tung oil is great stuff. Stabalized woods are nice. A lot of the finish has to do with the finish work. I sand a LOT and go thru all the grits most of the time. Buffing and waxing are nice too. Permalyn is also a great coating and gets very shiny and makes the wood waterproof.

I have used Permalyn gunstock finish - it seals the wood and provides and extremely durable and long-lasting finish.
