Wood Handled Fixed-Blade - With or Without liners?

I'm buying myself a custom fixed-blade knife (my first, a beautiful Razel from the amazing Graham brothers), and I know I want the desert ironwood scales. But what I can't decide on is whether it would look better with liners, or without?

Opinions? Anyone have any images of knives that they think really show off how impressive it a knife handle (with wooden scales) looks with/without liners?

I don't like liners, but it's matter of personal taste.
