Wood handled peanut...

Through my years of growing up, I always admired my Dad's Keen Kutter knife; it was (I believe) a peanut. It had reddish colored wood handles, and at one time had a medallion on one side. He carried until nearly his death in 1993, giving it to me a few months before he passed on. The blades had been sharpened so much over the years that the small blade was almost a punch or pick shape. Somehow, it was mislaid, and never recovered. I have been looking on EBay for a similar wood handled peanut, with carbon steel blades, not necessarily a Keen Kutter, but a quality "replacement" and haven't seen many at all. Are these deals that rare? I am looking for an EDC knife= Thanks for the assistance!

To find an authentic older Keen Kutter, it would probably take a lot of Ebay searching over time.

For a new knife, Bear & Sons Cutlery of Alabama has revived the KEEN KUTTER trademark and they make a number of traditional patterns including the peanut with smooth walnut handles. The have stainless steel blades, though.

Case may be your only current choice for a peanut in carbon steel, but your handle choices would be yellow plastic or red bone.
