I have 2 112's. one is from 1974 and the other is a 2 dot I believe that would be about 1980. All I found on search was that macassar ebony was used and then obeechee wood laminate is now used. How far back did the macassar ebony go back? Thanks.

My understanding is the 112 came out a couple of years after the 110 ( probably around 66 or 67 ) and I think they used the ebony for only a few years. I have a 112 from 1970 with wood handles. So my guess would be 69 or 70 for the switch.

I think you're right on the 66-67. Joe mentioned in the only thread I could find using the search that in about 92 they switched to Obeechee laminate. I've got some time so I'll look a little closer at the old threads. Thanks

Ok, after reading many pages of threads, I've got it. The 112 was introduced in May of 1972. Black micarta was used until sometime in 1973. Sequa (sp) was used for a short time in 73. By 1974 they were all made with Macassar ebony. Then in 1992 it was changed to Obeechee wood laminate.
Now was there another change to birchwood or is obeechee to current wood??
