Lets see 'em folks.
Lets see some well loved & used wood handled knives.

I have an issue with wood....I don't trust it to not split, crack, swell, shrink or just plain wear faster than man made materials.
So please help me get over my wood failure issues by posting pics of and/or telling the story of your well loved wood handled knives.

I do have a few myself & have put wood on some of my rehandle jobs, but that was mainly because I had the wood on hand(pallet oak) when I decided to do the particular job & I didn't have to buy anything, but they don't get the time in the woods or just plain used like my other than wood handled knives do.

So again....lets see 'em folks.(Please):)

One of the best I've seen is Sean's KY fieldmate, it's well used, loved and even has some pitting, for me the line between"damage" and character in wood is very permeable

My most used wooden handle is of course the JK Toby;s knife number 1, it has scrapes, dings and coloring from use, and it's stilkl as comfirtable in the handle as ever.

The only un-fixable damage is probably a crack but I think that comes down to the wood itself and the person who put it on, I honestly have never felt micarata to be any tougher then the wood handles john does. Plus...prettty :p

Ive had great luck with wood handles! These three have seen a lot of action, maybe not batoning etc, but a lot of wet, dry and some camp site use. And they are pretty old to boot!

These are my first set of wood scales I have made .I am interested to see how they hold up...

Here is a few more I use the most. These 4 do all my butchering, carving, and the 2 at the top Russell Green river blanks with osage I did myself 5+ years ago, Do all my camp work as well, food prep, anything around camp. Have had great luck with them!

Almost a square peg in a round hole there Pete.
Some hex shaped mosaic pins sure would be cool eh?
Thanks for the pics.
