Was looking at knifeart.com and the small sebenza with a wood inlay costs $200 more than a regular small sebenza. Now im sort of wondering how it costs that much more for a different handle, and if I remember correctly its just on the non clip side so one side of the hanlde is different? Sorry if this seems like im knocking the sebenza or chris but im just curious. Am I missing something?

Hickory, good question.

First you would have to own a plain Sebenza to appreciate how good a knife it is.
Once you learn to love the knife you discover decorated Sebenzas.

IMHO, the wood inlay is the nicest looking decorated Sebenza and they only make 60 large and 60 small each year.

I would like to see a wood inlay Umfaan.

The lock side also has a wood strip on it.

$200 is a hefty premium to pay for the wood inlay but the fact that it looks so nice, that the process does add considerable labor time to each knife and that they only make 60 in each size, kinda justifies the price in my mind. And, they do add a wood inlay on the clip side of the handle, which is new for this year, I think.
I can't wait until August/September for mine to arrive.

One thing I think that would be an improvement on the wood inlay knives would be for the wood to folow the edge of the handle all the way instead of leaving a space for the Chris Reeve logo. The logo could then go on the locking side of the handle. Just a thought. Are you listening Chris?

Wow, I had no idea they only made 60 a year. The price seems good for something im guessing is a bit of a collectors item. I would like to get a sebenza, probably not a wood inlay one but a large plain would be awesome !

Oh forgot its not Hickory, its Hickey...my last name is Hickey. Dont worry tho everybody does that

I'm sorry for the mistake Mr. Hickey.

You can not go wrong with a Sebenza.

Bill, the picture is a 1999; the first year of the wood inlay and it has the woood strip on the back.

This year is the first year for the Left Handed Wood inlays.
